you can get a "little grey box" or whatever they call them at home depot for about 20.

they are pretty much readily available. the one i use is listed as use for an electric water heater.

I heard as far as green hair algae the best is a sea hare I am working on the same problem. Turbo snails are great. I also just got a sea hare and it only comes out at night. Doing a great job too. But you must be sure to get the right one. There are cold water sea hares and you don't want that one...
