Sometimes you get a little bored and then a little magic shows up.
I was looking in my reef yesterday and notice something of color, a little of that fluorescent green on a rock that has some various colors of green algae mixed with coralline. But what is this tiny spec of light glowing fluorescent green I wondered? I went and got the magnifying glass...sure enough it was some type of coral. I tried to ID it, thinking it maybe a mushroom, then maybe a ricordea, but it wasn't the same color as any ricordea in my system.
Then it hit me: It was a fungia! I had glued a fungia from the fragswap to a rock, and then later found out you are supposed to leave these guys on the sand, so I carefully cut it from the rock. I guess I unintentionally fragged it and it is growing from the tiniest speck of flesh that was left. Well the one I cut away is living happily out of sight at the back of my tank, so I tend to forget it is there. I already moved it once so I just leave it alone. Now I have one growing on the rock in front of my tank...just so cool!
