Basic Water Chemistry

    Here are some basic water parameters

    Ammonia: < 0.1 ppm (parts per million)

    Nitrate: < 0.2 ppm

    Nitrite: < 0.2 ppm

    Temp: 76-83 F

    Salinity: 1.025 specific gravity or 35 ppt (parts per thousand)

    pH: 8.1 - 8.3

    Alkalinity: 7-11 dKH or 2.5-5 milliequivalents per litre

    Calcium: 420 ppm

    Magnesium: 1280 ppm
