What?! Bummer. Do you want to house a few corals in my tank until you get a new tank setup......you are setting up a new tank right!?

I've had a couple unexpected bills come through...After making a list...I discovered that I have over $4000 invested! in one year...WOW! I'm pretty sure I am not going to be able to sell it all and I'm really not wanting to part piece by piece...So, perhaps I can just look into fragging some things to sell? I don't really know how to do that, but Joel at Triton Marine said he could help me. The day glo is gorgeous and I bet I could get at least 3 frags from it to sell. and maybe a few other corals can frag? Not sure.

Looks like my house isn't going to sell this time around, so I don't want to get a new tank and have to move it.

Joel at Triton has a really nice saw for fragging. The best place to sell frags outside of a swap is listing it on Reef Central since they get more traffic there, but you need to hit 50 posts before they let you sell anything there. You can still sell here on the C-SEA forums, it just may not sell quite as quickly (unless it involves the word dayglo). Put together a list of what you would be either willing to either part with outright or cut frags of and post a list with some pictures and prices, I'm sure you will have no problems finding buyers. Don't give up on the hobby yet, frag selling definitely helps make up some of the costs!

That dayglo just keeps growing and by the looks of it is hungry! Were you serious about fragging it up at the next C-SEA meeting?

YES! I'm bringing it to the meeting. I'm hoping Joel can cut it in half...one piece will be not touched the other piece will be for fragging and then I'm guessing he can probably get 4 or 5 more pieces? I'm going to send him pics before so he can see it. I don't know anything about cutting it, so I'm hoping to learn! and I hope I don't kill it by taking it out! It is doing really well in my tank and i feed it brine shrimp...as long as the cleaner shrimp doesn't see me feeding it...it feasts! LOL

I know he will be able to cut it in half no problem! I'm not sure how many pieces you will get out of the half that you decide to frag further. I would err on the side of caution and not make the frags too small, but I have no idea how big that piece actually is. Make sure to rub it in how fast it grows in your tank within earshot of Nathan ;) Glad to hear that you are coming to a meeting again, it's been awhile since we have seen you at a monthly meeting, hopefully this is the start of you coming to a bunch more!

The piece on JF site is only 1/2" Joel had mentioned that 3 or 4 eyes is a good frag. Well...there's well over 100 eyes on that piece now. The corn bread Favia is growing slower, only 7 eyes on that and I've had it 5 months.

Yes, this is the piece that Joel cut for me at the meeting. THANKS Joel and no....I didn't watch him do it! lol

JF has a 7-8 eye piece or 1/2" for 375.00 (about 50.00/eye) Well...if that is the case then at only 30.00/ eye....here are the 4 pieces and I've just counted from the photos, There are probably one or two more eyes.

    1. 8 eyes- 240.00
    2. 15 eyes- 450.00
    3. 18 eyes- 540.00
    4. 20 eyes- 600.00

They are local pick up only. I'm not shipping. If you want to buy it now and pick it up at the swap in Feb. I can do that too. (it'll be bigger then!) Also, for club members I will give first dibs on before placing on FB or another site....I'm also willing to offer a discount for fellow club members and look at trades, if you have something I love! lol
