    Hello all,

I have just joined, as of yesterday and I'm glad to be a part of this group. I didn't see anything official, after sending in my Pay Pal payment, so I hope I'm not overstepping my boundaries here.

My name is Eric, from Aurora and I have had my 1st Reef setup for 15 months now. Yep, just a babe in the woods, compared to most of you.

I have had freshwater tanks, for a long time (mostly Cichlids) and have taken my love of water to a whole new level.

We were remodeling our living room and we had this wall...well, we couldn't figure out what to put there. 2 friends from work, have Reef setups so, I thought, why not? I marked off the wall, built the stand and got my project going. It turned out to be the most fun and not so much, project I have done.

I had guidance on, what to shoot for. The best piece of advice was "nothing good happens fast, in this hobby" and I still hold that close. I tried not to skimp on my purchases. I'm not one to start off cheap and have to replace down the road. So, I think my setup went really well.

    Now for the good stuff:
Mine is a 75g In Wall Reef, 30g sump and all Pukani Live Rock, from BRS. Reef Octopus Skimmer, Via Aqua return pump, 300w Jager heater, Filter sock. I have a 1.5-2" Aragonite sand bed and 3 Hydor Korelia pumps on timers. 6 bulb, Suntek T5 light (2 Actinic, 2 Blue Plus, 1 Geis 10,000k and 1 Coral Plus) I run the light on my fuge/sump opposite my Display.

Current fish: 2 Green Chromis, 2 False Percs, 1 Starry Blenny, 1 Yellow Tang, 1 Copperband, 1 Anthias.

I will get some pics posted shortly.

Once again, thanks for having me. I hope somewhere down the line, I can give back the help I received, when I started.

Now, on to the good stuff (pic heavy)

Here was the wall in question, after remodeling:

We have a hallway, with closets we never used for much. So, here resides the nerve center :)

I went to Tidal Gardens, last week and picked up a Daydreamer Chalice, Mystery Chalice and a Rainbow Ricordea. They are getting used to the Reef as we speak. I have also ordered a Jason Fox Halloween Chalice. Should arrive tomorrow.

Thank you for the welcome and comments, I appreciate them! Does this mean I'm an official member? :)

New to the reef...Jason Fox Halloween Chalice (top) Mystery Chalice from Than at Tidal Gardens. Don't mind the bits of sand, on the Mystery, my Conch felt it his duty, to clean the frags, as soon as I put them in.

011.JPG Thanks for the welcomes all. Hopefully get see you all at the picnic!

I also heard that Than will have the Greenhouse open for purchases. Is this correct? If so, I'm in big trouble :)

What's a good way to sneak in corals, so the significant other, doesn't know??

Anyway....Here's a pic of one of Than's Chalices, sweepers out, from this am:

I use the kid excuse. Ill take my son and tell her that he kept pointing at it or some other random thing. That works great for fish to.

Did some moving around and added a new Purple Maxi-Mini Anemone, from Tidal Gardens:

    005.JPG

Birdsnest, after my Mexican Turbo Snail fell on it, from one of the returns. Fragged the parts that broke off..looks really "fluffy" now. Sunset Monti creeping up:
    007.JPG

Chalice finally moved, off the rack and onto a rock. Starting to take hold:
    012.JPG

    New Acans:
    013.JPG

Moved the Setosa down next to the Armor of the Gods. The rock in the middle has Rainbow Monti all over it but, has never had the full color, as when I first got it, which was a small frag, at the time. It's still going:

Eric- You have such an awesome system!!! You'll need to have it featured in our Tank Tour. What better way to get your way around the club. Of course you can further the damage by attending the frag swap next weekend. We look forward to seeing you!!
